Since when is my Mail so Damn Delicious?! & Things to Look Forward to.

I’m one of those people who gets mega excited to get something in the mail- REAL mail.
My mailbox is usually overflowing with a lovely assortment of pizza delivery flyers, thai restaurant menus (that are nowhere near my house anyway?!) and a choccie wrapper some really thoughtful, selfless person has thought to give me as a little token of them being in the area. Thanks, kiddo.

Anyway, today was a fantastic day.
Please note that I am basing this mainly (read: entirely) around the little (actually, scratch that, quite large…) present I was sent…

Everybody meet my delicious selection of goodies that the amazing company, Chobani, were lovely enough to send to this yoghurt obsessed girl!

I swear I’m now the proud owner of pretty much every Chobani flavour that ever existed! Right up the back there I’ve got 2 big tubs of plain yoghurt, one fat free and the other low fat, and then some pretty darn good looking flavours: strawberry, blueberry, peach, pineapple, mango passionfruit… it’s like a flippin’ tropical island in my snack, no word of a lie.
All this calcium will be amazing to heal my stress fracture! Did someone say calcium overload?! Why, hello.

I cannot wait to get my creativity on in the kitchen, and whip up some fantastic recipes that I can incorporate some yummy Chobani into for that extra creaminess!
And hey, looks like I’ve got my snacks sorted for the next month or so? #foodprepwinning

A special mention to the incredibly cute Chobani apron and oven mitt I also received.
I’m glad Chobani realise the utter importance of fashion and accessorising appropriately in the kitchen… you’ve gotta look the part! I’m loving my new domesticated housewife look, it makes me feel much more adequate whilst cooking, and makes me less worried about burning down my apartment as well as the adjacent ones. :P

I’ll be posting some reviews of the delish treats, as well as my experience with cooking with the yoghurt as one of the ingredients. So watch this space! ;)

In other news, today was the Orientation Day at my uni. I’m going into my second year, but thought I’d be really cool and rock up with all the overly-enthusiastic first years with a couple of friends. We fit right in, what you talkin’ bout?!
Basically, at O-Day you get the opportunity to suss out all the clubs the uni offers, and sign up for the ones you’re loving the sound of.

Naturally, being the sport junkie and adrenaline junkie/hyperactive person I am, I got a tad excited when I saw all the sport teams that I could get involved in.
One that really stood out to me was the Balance & UTS Tri Club, which is basically a club where they offer heaps of training sessions a week for all the elements of a triathlon: running, cycling and swimming.
I know who will definitely be signing up! It’s an awesome opportunity to try my hand at some cycling and swimming as cross training, and then when I’m all better, I get to throw myself into the running side of things!
I mean, it doesn’t mean I’m going to be training to bang out some massive triathlon at any point, remember I’m still working towards a half-marathon first!
But it’ll be so fun to do all that stuff as a team, and get to meet some people who are equally as passionate about staying fit and healthy, and challenging yourself physically, as I am. Bring it on, UTS 2013! :D

While I was thinking about things I can get really involved in this year, I thought about joining a running club- don’t worry, I’ll be either going with the Tri Club or the Running Club!
Being the painfully nerdy research fiend I am, I turned to trusty google to suss out which ones are available in Sydney, and would be suitable for me.
I found one called Sweat Sydney, and basically they have 4 training sessions a week: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, where you get together and just- run. And then talk about how much you love running. |
I honestly couldn’t think of a more dreamy way to spend my 6am mornings 4 days a week! ;)
They also offer you the chance to get running coaching for proper form and training, as well as training from the coach, specifically for you and your goals; and he’s able to get together a really comprehensive and personalised plan for you to help you get there.
Pretty neat, huh?

So those are the random musings of my Wednesday I’ve just shamelessly subjected you to.
Hope your hump day was a good one!

Have you ever completed a triathlon?
Are you someone who’s extremely passionate about swimming or cycling, and what’s your weekly training plan like?

Anyone part of a running club?
What’s your favourite ever Chobani flavour?
